The 2009 season got off to a great start on 24 April with a concert by Dennis Alexander and Jim Douglas (see photograph above) who entertained us with poems, songs and stories of times gone by locally and of travels and homecomings. We hope more people will attend their next concert in 2010 which we have been asked to put into our schedule already. 2009 doesn’t have to be the only ‘Year of Homecoming’ after all! See back page for the remaining forthcoming events and please let all your friends and neighbours know about the variety of concerts we have arranged — we are always open to suggestions and requests for concerts which you may want to have at the Kirk, so contact any of the people listed if you have any good ideas for social evenings or afternoons.
We have also had a very enjoyable Beetle Drive and Daffodil Tea which helped to raise funds — thanks to all who participated!
Congratulations to our organist Alex Kirkwood on his marriage to Sasha and while we’re at it belated congratulations also to Sally Mackenzie and Alistair Laird; Sarah Kerr and William Kinnear (July 2008) and to Emma Borthwick and Douglas Creighton (April 2009).
Baptisms to be added to our Cradle Roll are — Thomas Logan (March 08); Rhys and Faith Gilmartin (Jan 09); Sofia Fraser (8 Mar 09) and Keir Ewing (29 Mar 09).
